Default Washable cabin air filter

Installed a K&N VF2000 washable cabin air filter after detailing car a couple of weeks ago. Filter is well made and looks like it could last decades, fits tight in the slot, car air blows very clean, main noticable benefit is much increased air flow at lowest fan settings. Filter cleaning solution is available for these but most folks just use a couple of drops of Dawn in cold water. Nice upgrade.

I use the WIX 24483XP antibacterial, hypoallergenic, multilayer carbon filter. It's objectively superior in every way, except for the fact that it's not reusable and won't last the life of the car.
Considering the fact that I usually change cars once a year or more often, this is an ideal option for me.

From the brochure:

WIX XP Cabin Air Filters are built with premium PUR-AIR™ technology and multi-layer protection that allows vehicle occupants to breathe cleaner air.
  1. Particle Filter Layer - filters out nearly 100% of allergens like pollen and dust
  2. Activated Carbon Layer - absorbs odors, gases and pollutants
  3. Biofunctional Layer - enhanced with a Microban® antimicrobial technology protects against odor-causing bacteria and mold growth
About Microban® TechnologyMicroban® antimicrobial technology prevents the growth of microbes (mold, mildew, algae, bacteria, etc.) by attaching to the cell wall and disrupting normal cellular function. This leads to the eventual breakdown of the cell and a reduction in the number of microbes on the treated filter media. As a result, the filters and the air inside the vehicle remain cleaner longer

Haven't used AutoZone disposable filters so don't know if they are better. K&N filter flow rate compared to Toyota OEM 87139-07020 disposable filter installed last fall is much better, car warms up quicker and I suspect will cool faster this summer, not sure how that will translate to less strain on HVAC system and fan. Price for the K&N was basicly same as Toyota filter when some in-store credits were used, won't have to buy another cabin filter though nor listen to HVAC fan roar, wife says vent air is clean and don't see any dust on the black dash after a couple weeks use.

Why buy a genuine Denso filter (especially paying extra for a genuine box from a dealer) if it's no different from the cheapest filter you can buy at any store?
I mentioned the WIX filter above. It's very inexpensive ($12.17) and filters everything perfectly.
Sorry, but the phrase "the car warms up faster" really amused me. Placebo effect?
