Default 245/50 r19

Hi
Has anyone run 245/50 R19 as opposed to the standard size tyre (235/55 R19)?
If so, I would appreciate any feedback you are able to provide.
Appreciate feedback from anyone with first hand experience.

You want to run 255/50/19 as that is the same diameter as the OEM tire size. It is what I am running on my RX. It is a common size used by a few other SUV manufacturers so there is a wide tire choice.
There are online sources to compare the diameter of different tire sizes.

Go directly to the tire manufacturer you want to use to do this. each seems to have their own version of what a 255 size is.

Thank you for your response. Does the 255/50/19 tyres not touch at full lock? Do they clear wheel wheels in the rear?
Thanks again.

They fit perfectly. No clearance issues. I have been running them for over 5 years and on 8 inch wide wheels. The original wheels are only 7.5 or 7 inches wide. The extra wheel width makes the tire sit a bit wider on the rim. Also I am running 20mm wheel spacers which pushes them out a bit. No problems with fit or clearance.

Here is an old thread where I posted photos of my RX with 255/50/19 tires and wheel spacers. See post 4

Thank you for your guidance in this matter. One last question if I may?
Is there a potential for rubbing on the inside of the wheel well if I fit the 255|50 R19 with no spacers?

There will not be any rubbing with that size tires on your OEM wheels.

Hey Guys, based in NZ and new to the forum, and just purchased a new to me 2014 RX450H F-Sport. Today upgraded the tyres to Michellin Pilot Sport 4 SUV - 255/55/19s - They fit perfect - no rubbing at all and they feel really nice and planted. As for the speedo, my speedo was previously reading a little bit under eg when it showed 50km/h was actually only doing 48km/h on the original tyres. With the new tyres at 50km/h and 100km/h on the display, the actual speed matches spot on. Hope this post helps.
