2010 RX350 headlight replacement options
Hi. My RX driver side(left) headlight seals have completely failed and water is getting inside the housing. The water doesnt ever dry either and I am thinking that maybe there is a drain that is clogged?
But regardless water is entering the HID housing and the main part as well. I have been looking for alternatives or fixes for it.
Buying a new oem headlight is about 1200CAD, so looking if anyone has had any success if it is possible, to reseal the headlight.
Or is there an aftermarket headlight alternative that people have had success with? I have seen on ebay new aftermarket HID housings for about 300CAD, Not sure if the quality is any good.
I havent had much success trying to locate an used headlight in Canada. My local auto pick n pull parts never has had any crashed RXs on their lots.
Also have been quoted by other used part dealers in my area for a headlight about 1400CAD. So also asking if anyone knows of reputable used car part sellers in Canada at a reasonable price
Another option I was considering is just buying halogen headlights but unsure if that possible to swap from a HID to halogen headlight. Thanks for any help

If the reflector has not lost its shine, I would remove the assembly and stick it in the oven at medium heat to dry it out.
The next thing I would do is determine the source of the leak and fix it with RTV.
imho, stay with the system you have, else you will have to deal with auto-leaving not working warning lights and mess with wiring and ballast.

See if "LKQ" can locate and sell you a used headlamp. You can check out asian exporters like Amiyama as well.

thank you for the suggestions. just trying to weigh my options and what is worth doing. As i dont want to remove the old headlight and find out it cant be sealed with RTV. Trying to avoid taking the front bumper off more then 1 time.
I agree with Salim. You need to stay with HID. Try drying it and using Clear RTV Silicone to seal it. I have heard of folks drilling holes in the bottom of leaking tail lights etc to let water drain.
