3rd Gen 7way plug mounting
7 way trailer plug
Hello everyone, I would like to install a 7 way trailer wiring on my 3 rd gen RX 350. Where would be a good place to mount it? I don’t see a solid metal support. I do have the trailer hitch installed and it would be awkward to use it. I’m planning to use the Curt Echo and have run the power line from the battery to the rear. Any suggestions are truly appreciated.

What do you plan to tow and do you have the tow package?
Do you even know if you have the tow package?
This has probably been covered in one of these trailer wiring threads:

Thanks Clutchless,
yes I have the tow package. I have been towing a small trailer for 3 years and before I started I ensured the vehicle was tow ready. The 4 way flat was already installed and I just needed the connector. I just purchased a larger A-frame camper that weighs less then 2000 pounds. It came with trailer brakes and I thought I would take advantage by installing a power line. I’m using the Curt Echo, which is a wireless brake controller; no need to tap into the brake line. There is just no decent place to install the 7-way round bracket.

There should be mounting plates with the cutout for the socket and the plate can be clamped or screwed on the hitch. Visit places like Uhaul and they can suggest and even do the install for you.
