Hello,
on my RX400h AWD (2006) I must change the bushing of the arm on the back, the one in the picture below.
I see that the Toyota program allows me to change the whole arm, not just the respective bush.
Has anyone changed just the arm bushing, do you have a part number?
Thank you in advance!
I would change the whole arm, it doesn't cost any more and you don't need to have a hydraulic press to push them out. Get some toe alignment bolts too if they're rusted and you think they might break when you remove them. I think I changed all the arms (Forward, rearward, trailing arm) on both my Highlander and RX350 for around 200 each car.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Here, I cannot find anything but some cheap arms (Febest, etc) and OEM. That's it. Nothing else. Do you happen to remember what brand you used for those arms?
On the entire rear suspension, only one screw came loose, all the rest were cut. I pre-ordered ALL the screws, nuts, washers, etc.... I haven't come across something like this in any other brand apart from Toyota/Lexus, and I've had many cars in the last almost 30 years.
Especially for the contribution to this community and the multitude of information and pictures posted.
I just used some Moog brand cheapies, while I wasn’t expecting much, it was a nice improvement over the original hard and cracked rubber. I also had to cut every bolt off my 2002 Highlander and 2008 RX350, it was an absolute nightmare.
Some members have found some soft polyurethane alternatives and some OE numbers that work for the rear knuckles, but unfortunately we haven’t found any for the rear control arms yet. However, from my junkyard adventures I know for a fact that the AWD 2004-2013 Highlander and 2009-2015 Venza share that exact bushing in the arm. 1999-2003 RX300 and 2001-2003 Highlander have a larger diameter hole for a different set of toe adjustment bolts even though the bushing outer diameter is the same, I learned this the hard way when I upgraded my 2002 Highlander to 2004-2007 model year rear suspension.
I’ll keep an eye out and see if there are any proper OE parts, although it seems Toyota has really let us down here
