Default AST Control Arm Bushings - Anyone tried them?

AST makes a polyurethane bushing for the GS400 lower control arm. Part number is W0133-1847317. Has anybody used this bushing before instead of the Daizen that comes with the control arm pack? Price for the AST is about $32 each.

Interesting. Would it happen to be the caster arm bushing?

Googling it seems to show that it's for the lower control arm (where the camber bolt goes through). At that price, I rather pay maybe $50 more for the Daizen set to get the caster bushings, which is practically the prime meat of the deal.

It looks to me like it is the caster arm bushing. Here is the description from parts geek:

"Detailed Notes: Inner bushing for control arm 48660-30240. The dealer does not offer this bushing except as part of the control arm. ADUS 536 will allow the replacement of the wear-prone OE rubber bushing with a more durable polyurethane one (and without the expense of having to replace the entire control arm).'

I believe control arm 48660-30240 (front suspension lower arm #2) is the caster arm correct?

Correct. That' the caster arm part number. Now I wonder if they're actual 1 piece like the Daizen or 2-piece.

$32 x 2 for both sides your better off going to TM and spend 99.00 for the whole kit...

I just called the sales department at AST to find out more about this product and was told that it is not manufactured by AST and that a company based in China is illegally using the AST name and logo. No idea if it is a 1 piece or 2 piece bushing.

got these in the mail last week. They are the caster bushing and they are 1 peice. It's just the urethane part and you have to reuse the inner metal sleeve. the guy who is puttng them in says the diameter is too small on the new bushing. I think he may have pressed too much out of the old arm though. he said there was a metal ring around the outside of the old rubber bushing that came out and I think it was supposed to stay in. I guess i have to buy the whole arm now

I dont know how these ones work, but for the Daizen, you need to press out the inner sleeve/ring to fit them. They are only there because the OEM rubber needs something to bond to. No need for it with urethane bushings, at least with the Daizens.

Thanks for that info. I talked to the guy again last night and I think my car may have the newer 2000-2005 catser arms. I know that the dealer put in a new stearing rack for the original owner back in 99 so they were trying to cure the vibration problem way back then. I'm guessing the newer arms use a wider diameter bushing so I'm hoping that ordering the 430 bushings will work. The guy is telling me there is too much space between the new bushing and the arm so if I don't have the wrong part these bushings are junk. will let everyone know how it turns out

Yes, but where can you get the Daizen kit these days? Seems to be on back order everywhere except TM Engineering and members have reported having mixed experiences with TM. Ideas?

That's good news. I think I will place my order with TM Engineering and see how it turns out. Thanks.

So I ended up ordering the Daizen kit from TM Engineering on Friday afternoon and received the kit today (Monday). I was very impressed with their communication and fast delivery. Thanks. I am hoping to install in the next few weeks.
