Default 2GR lubrication system= Shocker

Has anyone checked or looked at the many oil passages & the different componts that the oil has to travel thru? I've never seen a oil system this complicated or complex before, wow......Even thou these motors are super reliable & are really built stout. Forged crank, rods, roller cockers, 4 main bearing caps that are also cross bolted, To me its a shocker to see the many oil routes/passanges.....I do like the oil jets that spray the bottom of the pistons & lower half of the cylinder walls......Then is it any wonder why some ppl have rattle on start up....Check the vvt solenoilds, seals on the valve covers, & I wouldn't run any oil heavier then 5 weight for winter weight......After looking at the oil system on a 2gr, why cheap out w/ a non syntectic oil? I run Mobil 1 0w-40 w/ a quality oil filter, Mobil 1, Wix, RP, K&N filter.....In the world of 4 cylinder turbo's, the 2gr is awesome......

I agree, I just finished watching this video from Speedkar and it was pretty mind blowing to see. It seems like some controlled chaos for sure, but done right.

For sure Felix and Matt.
I've had oil delivery problems on mine and it was oil changed at the dealer every 5k miles on the Carfax before I got it.
When I got it around 120 miles I been running Mobil 1 synthetic every 3k miles, can't imaging how much trouble I'd be in if I didn't.

Oil delivery problems I've had which are now fixed.
1) ticking lifter
2) tink in the lower engine at crankshaft
3) sinking brake pedal due to improper delivery to VVT "lating" the timing.

I see a thread just came up about #3 on the list, wondering if he had same problem as me.
