A while back you thought maybe the Driver Door Ecu/Module may be acting up.

Can I suggest removing that component and see if things go back to normal with it unhooked?
Reason I ask is because you may have a bad door switch and stuff as mentioned above and that's totally possible but if the door module is ever suspected, this can keep the Body System "Alive".

Just throwing out some more ideas, great posts by members above already.

I don't think the BCM requires programming from the dealer. There a a few customer preference things that the dealer can program the BCM to do, but otherwise it is ready to go. I didn't have any problems with swapping in a junkyard one.

As far as removing/replacing the BCM, it isn't too hard. I just did a write-up on swapping the dashboard junction block that has the BCM in it.

so maybe the bad door switch is preventing the automatic headlights from turning off when double tapping the lock button as it could be connected to the bcm?
