Loud clanking on start up 2008 RX 350 help.

Loud clanking on start up 2008 RX 350 help.
Newbie here, so hello everyone. Recently bought my first lexus, 2008 RX 350 , one owner , only 74,000 miles. Absolutely love and enjoy the ride, dated technology, but thats okay. Now from all my research it seems as if the chatter at startup from VVTi cam, is from oil draining back down it pan. As it is with most others, it only happens for a few seconds, then all is good. I tried the turn key to on position for couple minutes , tried crank but dont let it start, running Mobil 1 5w-30 oil. The noise still occurs.
Even called Lexus dealership and corporate, basically i was told , since it is way out of warranty, unless it is throwing codes, or service engine light is on, dont worry about it, as it wont effect performance. Now, the question I have for ANYONE, that has this issue, how long have you been driving with it without codes or failures? Im curious if it truly is just a nuisance and i can just deal with the noise, or is going to lead to major repair bills. THANKS

Yes the cam phasers clanking at cold start ...i have the same noise .. been doing it since i bought it 12k ago... i read in one post one owner used 0-40 mobil 1 and hy-per lube .. with no noise ... do a search.... i will try the 0-40 next oil change...

Yes, i saw that post also, thanks for your reply, i was wondering for folks having this problem, if they are still going strong on their motors for xx,000 amount of miles and still have clatter noise going on. so for yourself its been 12,000 and still going on. Good to know.

I get the clatter, not to loud.. but its there.. for about two seconds , had the same noise with my vw passat 180k ... most vehicles with this set up have this noise until the oil gets up there... a 121k now on the RX
