Default AFS Add On to 2004 RX330

Please excuse me if this has been asked before, but I've searched the forums and not found a definitive answer. This is my 4th Lexus, and the price of this one was right! It's an 04 RX330 with minimal features. I was a traitor for a while and went over to Infiniti, and there is one silly thing I will really miss...the AFS on my Infiniti sedan. I was driving an RX350 with AFS and was wondering how hard it would be to throw some newer headlights in this one and have AFS. From my limited understanding, my body style RX was available with AFS. Is this simple to do or would it cost me more than its worth.

Thanks for your help. I am glad to be back in a Lexus...though its not another LS, I love my car

Probably a nightmare. Other than the lights, you need the rear control arms with the brackets that mount the height-sensor. You also need the wiring, which I’m not sure non-AFS models have. Maybe someone who knows can chime in.

I'll 2nd that.
You will need the sensors, AFS ECU, and a Suspension ECU.
Bad part is these ECU's will have to be wired into your existing Skid Control ECU and Body ECU and it is unknown if your current setup will be ok with that.

You could always be bold and go for it but it looks like a lot of work and risky if it will work.

If its critical to you for hid's w/ afs, really best to swap out your vehicle for one that has the options your wanting, possibly as well as the color.....I figured out the differnt colors & options & spent a few months looking for our rx, as I wasn't in a hurry, a few hours every so often on a weekend.....A few options are stand alone btw....Look up a pdf sales brochure would tell you

Thanks for the replies everyone. It's not critical, it is just a feature that I would like to have. I figured it would be a nightmare, but thought I would ask anyway. Thanks everyone!

I got it from a friend for free, in sound mechanical condition, and just seriously needing an interior detail so one can't be too picky about features when it's that kind of a deal...no need to be looking at a sales brochure...and sometimes just because XYZ option requires a package group, doesn't mean that a single feature cant be added to an 18 year old car from donor parts from the salvage yard. Obviously this one was a long shot.

For sure yougot a steal (awesome deal) on that one......& for sure can't be picky, which is totally different as I was thinking you bought it for a low price & not knowing the different options.....btw way there were a few stand alone options as well, just as you can do w/ aftermarket products as well as oem parts depending on what it is as you mentioned. But at that price, If you really wanting to add the oem hid's, I'd be researching what the wiring & parts you'll need.
