2008 rx350. Replaced the rubber cover on the lift gate handle. Power assist works from key FOB and driver's dash button. But only releases from handle and lift gate must be manually lifted. I assume motor is fine since it operates from other controls. How can I get it to lift from the handle (with motor assistance) without taking to the dealer?

 

using the handle, it relases on my rx350, but you must manually lift the door with assistance from the struts. The motor does not operate.

 

Change the setting with Techstream...

 

I think it may be a custom setting...seems like my lift gate used to operate that way but maybe I'm mistaken

 

What is techstream? Sorry but I don't know what that is

 

the manual lift allows you to half open the door to retrieve gear when you are parked under a low roof.
