Default replacing the battery

just had the battery replaced.
I made sure they were using an OBDII battery tender.
even with them using it, my windows, clock, and car radio needed reprogramming.

So if you are doing a battery replace, i recomment hooking up 12V to the actual battery cables somehow, instead of counting on the OBDII port to do the job!

(in case you never did it, to reprogram the windows, go to each one, and on its door manually take the window down all the way, then up all the way. this way the CPU "learns" where full up and full down are, and your driver side window switches will work again.)

Your radio needed reprogramming, too?
Usually the radio is able to keep its memory.

I never tried one of those OBDII power keeper things, but the reviews are mixed on them. The power keepers you stick in the cigarette lighter get even worse reviews.

Really no sweat to deal w/ reprograming.....Swap out the alternator & your undoing the terminals.
btw, what battery did you end up with?

i should be clear...it did NOT require me to enter a password. but the clock part needed reprogramming. the stations (FM) were still there.
