I have a 2004 RX330, Black. I bought it with 270k on it. It rides beautiful. However, since this car is quickly becoming my pride and joy I want to make it look better. Overall the paint is pretty good, but front of hood has several chips from gravel hitting it. At least about 20 spots with chips about 1-2mm in diameter. I have noticed they go deep through 2 layers, about 1mm deep. Is there a touch up paint that can be used fill and paint? Looking for a good touch up paint that is thick so it may fill it a little. Paint that is thin as water will likely leave a visible indent. Id like a quality paint that is thicker and milky that may reduce depth a little bit after touching up a spot. Ive never bought touch up paint so any tips will help.
Used this with good results. But in all fairness, plenty of youtube videos using regular touch-up paint from the dealer for just this type of damage. Good luck!
i too would say get a touch up paint pen from a dealer and go to town on it. I need to do that myself on mine as there are a number of spots on the hood on mine that are chipped like yours.
OEM touch up is the way to go, especially if you have the special pearl/metallic white paint like I do. I got two tubes as a kit, one for the white and one for pearl, never have I got this for Toyota touch up paint.
But, my hood was too destroyed to touch up. I had it repainted at a body shop and that was worth every penny.
