Default Red Calipers

Does anyone have any photos of an RX with red calipers on it(probably Power Stop or Brembo)? I need to replace mine and wanted to go with red Power Stop but I’m getting mixed reviews from friends and family. I think it’ll look clean but some are saying trashy. Would also like any opinions you may have on it.

That'd be powerstop caliper's as you mentioned. Stoptech offers a BBK for the rx as well. Why not just paint your calipers you have? I've always paint my calipers a gloss black after sanding the calipers smooth on varies vehicles.....A few different choices, spraying, brushing as well as tearing them about for powder coating as well. Another option is to get a MGP caliper covers in assorted colors. If your calipers work good, to me its not cost effective to buy the powerstop calipers. I'd either paint them or go w/ the MGP covers, what ever way you go, get idea to get a SS brake hose kit from http://tirerack.com........

Hi Felix
i need to replace the one rear caliper so decided now would be the time to change them out if I wanted to do this. They’re not that expensive on Rockauto and all the calipers are originals. I think they would make the car look nice and clean without looking pimped out. Which I definitely do not want to do. I noticed a lot of newer expensive suvs now have them on.
so now I’m looking for a couple photos if anyone has any and some opinions on the choice

Don’t take this the wrong way, but I think the time has come where Gen 2 RXs are getting to the old old car territory.

if I saw a BBK on a RX, it’ll feel like a tattooed 70 year old.

unless of course your upgraded rotors can fill up the space of your 18-20” wheels.

EDIT: Aren’t BBKs like $3k+?
how much would oem sized replacements be?

I recently bought a rx300, it had red calipers on the rear.I

thought they looked wrong. the wheels where badly pitted so they needed to be refurbished, had them powder coated black. Then I cleaned the calipers and painted them by brush black, looks alot better. Its only my opinion but only the calipers being red just doesn't look right on the car.

Default Good analogy

The calipers are Power Stop and they run about same cost as regular ones $76.99 +25 core. My rims are the factory upgrade 18”. You may be spot on with the tattoo on a 70yr old since I’m 56 and don’t want to look like I’m driving my kids car

If you want to see the MHP caliper covers, here's my NX—not RX—with red ones. I just ordered another red set for my white UX.

Ok, now I’m back on the fence. Your NX looks awesome. Added just enough to the appearance to sweeten it up without looking gaudy. Although mine is a lot older I was kinda hoping for the same effect I have till Wednesday to decide so please keep the input coming.

Those MPG caliper covers come in varies colors btw....."Pepp'' are you going to replace the pads/rotors as well? Or what. Just to add for some ppl, the Stoptech BBK is 2K....The kits comes w/13'' two piece rotors, 4 piston calipers, SS hoses, direct bolt on....I've installed many BBK's on varies vehicles I've had, mainly used http://baerbrakes.com, & few Wilwood's.......

Complete redo in rear, all PowerStop with Z23 pads and evaluation coated rotors. Front will just be calipers. Recently put on Wagner coated rotors and Akebono pads(might change pads to Z23 just because of my OCD) Rear redo about $300 front about $250 all from Rockauto. Regardless of which ones I put on I do need to replace rear rotors and pads. Just thought I’d take opportunity to change to red PowerStop. Could only change the rear and wait till fronts go bad but once again my OCD would drive me nuts. Not top of the line but good enough for my daily driver. Car is still in great condition. Again, I value all opinions on this subject so keep them coming.

If one of your calipers are bad & your swapping out your pads/rotors as well, Possibly best to get the http://powerstop.com
kit w/ calipers,rotors/pads then....Since your there, I'd also replace the brake hoses w/ http://tirerack.com SS ones & of course flush your old brake fluid out w/ new dot3 fluid.

The website does have a great price on the combo for calipers rotors and pads. I little cheaper than what I paid and it includes the slotted rotors. But I already ordered mine Friday and they should be here tomorrow. Car goes in garage on Thursday. Thanks for the link maybe can use on wife’s car.
