So I noticed the my heater wasn't working the other day and when I checked my coolant levels my reservoir was empty so I filled it up. When I went to work today my heater still wasn't working which is a huge bummer. so today I decided to take a look under the hood to see what the issue could be to see if I could pinpoint where the leak is coming from. I noticed it was Dripping on the driver side, and when I opened up the hood I noticed that my evap drainage line coming from underneath the shroud that Loops behind air intake manifold was disconnected and I've also been getting evap error codes so I was kind of stoked about it because I'm pretty sure I figured out the issue on that. However as I continue to disassemble my air filter housing and hoses associated with it, I found a huge pool of coolant on top of the transmission which leads me to believe that somewhere around there is where the leak is coming from, and that's when I noticed this tiny little hose that couldn't be more than 4 in. Now I'm pretty sure that could be what the issue the question is, and it might be part of the radiator system although could also be part of my EVAP system. Would anybody have any hints as to what this tiny hose could be?
Check coolant hoses around that area for the obvious.
Wiggle some around for a pin hole leak or tear.
If none found, these motors are known for the coolant valley plate leaking coolant.
(Under the intake manifold)
Follow the lower radiator hose going towards the t-stat housing (black plastic part)
Bolts to the coolant plate housing.
It usually crust up pink under there.
See signs for that and coolant leaking.
That small hose you found looks like the hose that tees into the airbox.
The thermostat housing is plastic. Mine started to deteriorate, and leak due to it cracking. You may want to check the plastic thermostat housing too since it is in the area. That hose you found is not coolant related.
