Default Wiper failure

Hi thereDriving along my wipers just stopped, in the up position.

Managed to push then down almost to the down position, but I can see them kinda try to move a little now and again.

It's not the fuses, I checked (Incidentally, that's the worst placement of fuses of any car I've ever had).

Is more likely a relay or motor issue?

I see this is your first post so-
Welcome to club lexus--!

Can I ask what is your year/model and mileage and if you had any other symptoms before your wipers suddenly quit?

Your symptoms show a wiper motor is going bad.
The fact that your wiper is moving some means there is power/ground from the switch.
But your motor is just shot.

Try turning your wiper switch to the ON posistion.
Then “help” swing the wiper and see what it does.

Just a quick update to everyone here as a thanks to those who replied.

Between the rain, I found a nearby scrap yard that was breaking a 400h. I tried a relay, and it wasn't the relay.

So when I took off the panel to try a new motor instead, it turns out that a cable (I think the one that goes to the front windscreen heater?) had broken off and got completely tangled in the mechanism.

As soon as I untangled the wires the motor started working properly again.

I'm not sure what damage being jammed all of that time did, and as it was already out, I replaced it anyway (£30).

Awesome job! Thank you for sharing your fix.

I was thinking same thing that your motor was a junked but it's good you probably repaced it anyway cuz who knows how much life you
took from it with it bound up in a harness.

No problem. And just to say that replacing the relay and the wiper motor/linkages are both very very easy jobs in a 400h.

I managed to do it with a phillips screwdriver and a spanner in less than 30 minutes.

it was actually more hassle checking the fuses than it was replacing the entire wiper motor, which says a lot for the placement of those damn fuses.
