Default Separation Net

Has anyone looked into getting a separation net for the 330? I know they make them for the x5 and the MDX, but haven't seen one for the 330?

do you mean a cargo net? if so there are 2 available for the 330 - one attaches to the cargo mat (floor) - the other hangs vertically and requires your svc dept to attach two extra hooks.

hi jeff, thanks for the reply. I'm talking about the vertical floor to ceiling net, not the cargo net. I haven't been able to locate what you describe from either dealer or aftermarket. Perhaps you could PM me a link or number to have on installed? The dealer has the cargo net, but it's the "separation net" as Acura calls their's that I need. Thanks! -Nate

nate,

wow - I've never seen one that goes from floor to ceiling - keep me posted if you locate one - maybe post a photo too so we all can see it.

as for the vertical cargo net, I had to have my svc dept drill 2 new holes near the top inside of the tail lights and install hooks - it looks fresh - your dealer should know about installing these.

Jeff, the net doesn't go all the way to the bottom, but it does attach from top to bottom, the MDX one you can see in this link.

if it's like the one you are having installed, please let me know! I'd be very interested. The dealer in Socal doesn't carry it. -Nate

Nate

oh I see - it's kinda like a cabby's cage - are you using this for a dog or something?

I already had my cargo net installed - it's just the basic cargo net that you can put small objects or groceries in...

yeah it's for my dog, I would get the other dog barrier but I have a chihuahua and she'll slip right through the bars. It's really only to keep her in the trunk when we're parked since she has a habit of tearing up the leather when we're not around =) -Nate

yep, that's the one I already tried. She jumps up and hangs onto the bars and pulls herself through with no problem, also scratching the headrests and seatbacks with her scrambling. We really need one with a "mesh" design to keep her out of mischief =)

This one is made in 5 sizes to fit all cars/minivans/SUVs. They don't mention the RX330, but I bet if you got the size that fits the RX300, you'd probably be OK:

thanks for the link paul! I'm going to check it out, but the problem I have found with the Rx330 is that the back pillars are not identical, the right one is slightly more protruding than the left possible housing the electronics for the auto-close trunk. That's why I'm looking for a custom one for the Rx330 application...I wonder if they'll ever come out with one, they're the only ones that don't have it. Acura, BMW, Audi, and Volvo all have them as dealer options. -Nate

Default grid type barrier

Given that my pups a 110 pound Newfie he doesn't present the same probs. But in researching pet barriers I found two types (1) the bar--which you've already tried; and (2) a grid style that would offer more support than a mesh net.

Here's link:

which one would you order to best fit the rx330 out of the vehicles listed there? I'm not really looking for support as much as I am for complete coverage.

From what I remember its a one model adjusts to fit all kind of thing. I ordered the bar type, so I can't tell you much about the grid style. According to the description you can vary the height and width. One thing I do know is in order to keep my guy behind the barrier when I fold down the seats I had to add one of the extensions. You might need two extensions if you want complete coverage. One nice property of the bar type is that you can adjust each set of bars to whatever width you need. I'm not sure the grid type offer that much flexibility. As always check with the dealer before you fork over the cash. FYI there are more than one company selling the grid type barrier over the net. They may all be selling the same thing, I only found two unique style of the bar type barrier, so you might want to check around some more to get one that offers the best fit.

Here's a better pic.

Good luck

thanks! i'll definately look into those. Like I said above, this little girl can wiggle through 3" cracks if there's something on the other side she wants AKA to tear up leather. =) So this will be a challenge.
