Default RX330 Auto A/C recirc

When the A/C in my RX 330 is set to auto, it NEVER switches the air to recirc. This seems odd to me since temps here in TX have been above 100 for the past few weeks. The manual states that having the A/C on in auto mode should control the outside air/recirc mode. But, I've never seen it go automatically into recirc mode in the 3 months I've had it. Even when set to the "LO" temp, the A/C stays in the outside air mode. Is this normal?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanx.

I too am in Texas and my 330 almost always comes on in recirc mode and high fan speed. After a while the recirc goes off and the fan speed lowers.

It's not normal (at least not for a Canadian RX330). Mine like Prubio's will automatically recirc the air if the temperature differential between the one you specified and the outside air is more than 3 degrees (Celcius).

Actually I find this ANNOYING. I would prefer the recirc to be manual like yours(!) Here in Vancouver Canada, we don't need A/C that often. So it's annoying for the system to automatically flip to recirc. Only later, when the air starts gettig stuffy or hot do I realize that, darn, the system had triggered the recirc. Like I said in a different thread, I think I could design a more "intelligent" automatic setting than Lexus has. In fact I normally have the auto setting turned OFF.

Default Have the dealer look at your c-best options

I remember vaguely that you can program the automatic recirculation as a c-best option.

Yep. I went to the dealer today. They didn't think there was a C-BEST option for it, but it turns out once they connected the tool up, that there was an option and mine was set to MANUAL rather than AUTO. Took a total of about 10 minutes. Working great now.

Do you need a factory or dealer tool to do this? I'd like to switch my recirc to MANUAL.

I would assume so. They connected the tool to a port under the dash on the drivers' side.
