Default Remote distance on RX330

Has anyone noticed that the distance for the remote keys to work on the RX330 is less than the RX300.
I use the remote to open all the windows on a hot day and also to find the car in a parking lot at night and find I have to be much closer even on a diect line of sight than I used to be.

Someone said you can tell how happy someone is by the trivialness of their complaints.

Post Short range solution?

And I thought it was my imagination! I used to lock my 300 from a block away or more, while my 330 responds only at ranges under 20 yards. I miss that extra range when suffering from brain fade, I want to check to be sure I've locked my car parked across the street from a restaurant....

There once was a fix for Hondas with this same problem; it involved using an alligator clip and a test lead to extend the antenna on the receiver located in the driver's kick panel. It nearly tripled the range of those range-challenged receivers. Wonder if it would work on the RX?

I'm not sure how far the range on my 330 really is, but I know it is much farther than 20 yards at least. So far I haven't run into a problem with lack of range. I usually hit the button when I can see the car, and it has worked thus far. I think the fatherst I did was in a parking lot at about 30 or so yards.

Post Safety feature

Good point, msilver - by minimizing range you reduce the risk of locking/unlocking another Lexus with the same code. Highly unlikely, but I suppose, possible. What do you know, it's not a problem, it's a feature!

If so, it would be an unnecessary feature. If you don't open a door after it is unlocked, the 330 will re-lock the doors after 30 seconds. Though I guess 30 seconds is a big enough "window" for a bold thief.
