Spark plug question
Hi all! I'm new to the forums so if I'm posting something that's already been covered, please forgive. I did search, but didn't find anything.
I have a 2005 RX330 with about 155,100 miles on it. I bought it in 2014 with around 96,000 miles on it. It rides like butter and handles extremely well. I had it in for service at the local Toyota dealer yesterday and the service rep told me that he's not finding any evidence that the spark plugs were changed before or after I purchased it. He said that I should change them even though there's no sign of them going bad because if I don't, they will get so difficult to remove in the near future that it'll be super expensive to remove them. He explained that the longer you wait, the harder it is to remove without damaging other parts of the engine which can end up being super expensive. They quoted over $500 to replace them now, but that's before tax.
My first question is, is this true?
My second question is, if there's no sign of the spark plugs going bad, do they need to be replaced?
And my third question is, does this sound as expensive to you all as it does to me?

Spark plugs, esp iridiums w/c is what you have, doesn't wear as much as copper or plats.
But they do recommend replacing them for maintenance.
$500....if your somewhat mechanically inclined, there at DIY’s in this forum on how to do it.
No need really for special tools.
Between plugs and gaskets, shouldnt cost you more than $100.
Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm not mechanically inclined. But I sincerely would like to get to someone who will replace them for substantially less than over $500. I just replaced a rear strut and that cost me over $400.
Is what the guy said about them becoming increasingly difficult to remove true?
