Default Moog Control Arm Bushings - #K200912

Greetings.

I am working on a 2004 RX330 (FWD, coil springs) that is in need of new front lower control arms. As I learned, Toyota does not sell the rear bushing separately (which is the only worn bushing) and forces you to buy the entire control arm assembly. I have personally had mediocre experiences with the offshore control arms in other applications (Mevotech and Moog R-series) due to either low quality rubber or slight dimensional variations resulting in alignment issues.

Moog sells part #K200912 as a "problem solver" bushing for the 10-17 RX350/450, 01-15 Highlander, 09-15 Venza, 04-10 Sienna, 09-15 Venza and 02-12 Camry Front LCA Applications. This is a ball-and-socket design which replaces the traditional rubber bushing:

I checked multiple aftermarket catalogs and confirmed that the 2004 Highlander V6 uses the exact same control arm as the 2004 RX330. In fact, Moog specs the same RK620334/RK620333 LCA's for both vehicles. But for some unknown reason, the K200912 bushing is only listed for the Highlanders; the RX is missing from the supported applications list. I think it is an error.

So, I am going to order a few sets of these K200912 bushings and try them out. They are only $20/bushing and they are something different (hopefully improved) than the generic offshore bushings which are otherwise available.

Does anyone have experience with this type of bushing design or with using this particular bushing in their RX?

Thanks.

I have an 2004 RX330. I can confirm that Moog K200912 does indeed fit into the lower control arm. Pressing it in was easy. I completed this job over the weekend wanting a better bushing. The K200912 does fit perfectly fine.

I got the RX330 with the bushings all tore up, so I cannot compare to new. The ride control is much better, no more thuds when braking. Braking is more linear with the control arm in control. The ride does not appear to be overly harsh. Some vibrations are gone. I did address the dash rattle yesterday with some duct tape at strategic places behind the dash gauges and black trim pieces. More anti-rattle treatment is still needed at other spots.
