Default Im Vexed About Chrome

OK here's the deal - I've had my RX330 for about a month now and I'm jonezin' for chrome wheels. I currently have Polished Graphite but somehow that's not good enough for me. There are reputable places throughout the country and on eBay that are selling the Lexus RX330 chrome exchange for $600, but of course you have to pay for shipping both ways, then pay to have the new wheels put on and balanced - by the time your done it's close to $900 - and the guaranty is only 3 years. My Lexus dealer is willing to drop their price on chrome to get my business - down from $1200 to $900 for the wheels, and after install almost $1200 - but they're guaranteed for life...... what should I do?

Daddy-O... this deal is for Chrome Exchange only - Lexus will keep my Polished Graphites - and if I go with the cheaper deal - the other company sends me the chrome wheels - then after I put em on my RX330 I gotta send my wheels to them - there's a "core charge" that's refundable when they receive my original wheels - here's the link to how it works...

Okey-Dokey...If you go with the Lexus deal, please post the dealer's name.

I'm still intersted in what will become "take-offs", if they are free of scratches and blemishes.
My name is already on the list at a couple of other dealers.

I believe all the "take-off" are used for stripping and chrome plating - it's just an exchange program - If Lexus gets my wheels they'll probably send em off to have 'em chrome plated from one of these secondary wheel companies - and then Lexus will charge the next guy $1200 for em, and on and on...... pretty good racket eh?

Dealers sell take-offs all the time. It's easy money.
No shipping, marketing, advertising or labor.
Cha-ching. Out the door.
One just has to wait.

Default Chroming

Chroming wheels should cost only about $150 per wheel. When the TireRack did my O-Z's that's all they cost. Send a PM to Brandon@Tirerack or post a question in the wheels forum. That's without an exchange so you get your wheels back.

But if you send your wheels to be chromed, what do you drive on in the meantime? Plus, don't you still have to remove tires and reinstall them?

I'm confused. The original cost was $1200, but now they are $900, and somewhere along the way, they went back up to $1200????? You don't have to buy them from your local dealership, by the way. Longo Lexus has plenty of those RX330 wheels........
