Headlight Randomly Turning Off
I have a 2005 RX 330 with 130K miles.
Started to notice while I was driving at night that the headlights randomly turn off. Sometimes it is just one headlight and sometimes both go off. I usually have the headlights in the "On" position since I like using the projector bulbs instead of the regular daytime bulbs.
When the headlight(s) randomly turn off, I can get them back on by changing the headlight mode on the steering wheel stock. For example, if they go off in the "On" position, I can change the stock setting to "Auto" or "Off" and then back to "On" and the lights come back on.
I did try to research this issue, but couldn't come up with a definitive solution.
Thanks!

I had the same problem with my 2007 GS300. I even later noticed that it only happens at certain speeds when turning in a specific direction (!) and convinced Lexus to replace the head turning unit under warranty but to my dismay it didn't solve the problem. I drove like that for 3 years!
The solution, I found, was to simply replace the globe! Don't ask me why, but it worked.
If you are sceptical, swap the head light globes (left to right) and see if the problem follows the globe or not.
I bought an original Phillips globe (which is used by Lexus) from a general automotive parts dealer at halve the price that Lexus sells it for and had no problems since.
I hope it works for you too! Happy New year!

No, I just removed the globe (very simple process) and took it to the store. It seems to be quite a stock standard item, although still expensive, but I trust Phillips products. I won't go for a cheaper alternative.
