Default 2007-2009 Rx drivers door mirror

as the title states, i am interested in info pertaining to these mirrors: My drivers mirror MOTOR will not go UP OR DOWN. I have side to side movement yet it will not go up or down. i'm thinking that there are seperate motors(one for vert and one for horiz) and since everything else works as it should, i would get a mirror (regardless of model--maybe) and change out the guts. i tried a search for any info on this subject but no luck. i am hoping someone out there can direct me or give me info in this operation. thankyou.

One of your switches is bad. Maybe needs as simple as cleaning contacts. Been there.

Default Ukrkoz:

thanks for the link, When you say you've been there, exactly what do you mean? your symptoms were the same? the reason i don't think it is the switch is that when i touch the presets, the mirror still only moves horizintally. i would think if it was just the switch it would still give me vert movement under programmed positions. am i wrong in thinking this? cleaning contacts SHOULD be an easier task than pulling the mirror apart. any more advice or info is greatly appreciated.

Happy New Year to all !!!!
