Default Door mirrors

I've got a new problem with the folding mirror function on my 2004 LS. It started out with the drivers mirror automatically swinging out past the normal stop position to the point that it is pointing towards the front of the car. Now the mirrors automatically fold when you turn off the ignition regardless of what position the switch is in. I followed the threads, disassembled the switches, cleaned and reassembled and no improvement. I've even disconnected the switch that controls the folding function and they still fold......and then driver's mirror unfolds until it's pointing at the front bumper. I even disassembled the driver's mirror hoping I would find the problem, but no luck with that either.

Any suggestions? Btw, this has been going on for over a month.

Disconnect the wires (dark green and dark blue wire ) that go to the motor inside the mirror housing. There is no way motor can spin without power.
There are instructions on disassembling mirrors. It is easy once you know what to do. I can now do it under 2 minutes.
I have the same issue.

I might try that next. I took the mirror apart earlier today and I wish I had thought to disconnect the leads, but like you say, once you've done it the first time it's no big deal. I just took the car up to my brother's garage to do a load test on the battery and it shows a bad cell so I there's an outside chance that may be the problem. While i was at the shop with the door open and the key turned on, the power seat and steering wheel started moving on their own. Now I'm really hoping the battery's the problem, I'll let you know how it works out once I get the new battery. Thanks.

just started having a similar problem with my 2004 LS430. The driver mirror was getting out of alignment at first and I had to adjust the housing by hand. I rarely use the auto folding function. Then it started randomly turning on and swinging all the way pointing to the front of the car upon starting. I am tired of reaching out the window on the freeway to pull it back into position. I already replaced the battery a few months ago before this started happening, wish there was a fix.
