used RX330
Hello to everyone,
I'm new to the forum and looking right now for a new car after moving to Canada. Had an Avalon in the U.S. for a long time before, but here looking for a Lexus ES or RX.
I found this one http://goodusedcars.ca/car-listing/2...awdluxury-suv/
and it seems to be a nice car and a test drive showed no problems. Very enjoyable ride, no signs of wear inside or outside.
However, it had 3 owners before but in the carproof report (similar like carfax) there are no service records shown. Also I don't see at a first sight a sticker with the milage the timing belt was changed, so would assume that was not done.
It has about 128k miles on it so it should have been done a while ago already?
I'll bring it to a shop next week to do an inspection before considering to make an offer to the dealer. Is there anything special the mechanic should look at? Anything one should be aware of with these models/years?
Thanks!

You can take it to a Lexus dealer who can check their computer to see if it was brought to Lexus to have the timing belt replaced. Other than that, the only way your mechanic can tell if its been replaced is if he did it and has a record of it which, of course, is like winning the lottery, probably won't happen. Yes, I'd plan on replacing that timing belt as soon as I bought the car.
