04 hood pops up if hit bump or dip in road
Wifes 04' started this not long after a remote start was installed, I tried adjusting the latch, thought I did and seemed to take care of it, on her way back from buissness it happened again and again, will be a few days before I can look again due to galbladder surgery tomorrow. But has anyone had issues with this?
2nd, is there any online repair manuals?

I'm hoping that when you say the hood pops up that it is coming open and being held by the safety catch. Otherwise, the hood would wrap itself around the windshield.
You need to examine the latch mechanism. In the first photo, the latch is open so that the hood may be lifted up. The red colored part is the latching finger that you can see. Part of it is hidden by the case. The section labeled "A" is the piece that holds the hood shut. The section labeled "B" is the part that the loop on the hood presses on to snap the latch into the locked position. If you try to push down on section a like the hood would, you will find it requires a LOT of force. It is spring loaded by a heavy duty spring. I would guess that you need a force of maybe 25 pounds or more to move it. Try pressing on it and see if it takes a lot of force. If it moves easily, the spring is broken which allows the latching finger to bounce around, thereby letting the hood to pop up.
In the second photo, the latch is latched. Section A that was on the left side in photo one is now holding the hood closed. The loop attached to the hood would be underneath section A. To snap the latch shut manually, it is probbably easier to push on the left side of section A. In this position, you should not be able to move it or pry it up, you need to pull the release lever in the cabin. When you pull the release lever, the latching part will snap open with a fairly loud snap or clank because of the spring attached to it.
See if the latch on your car looks like mine and that it is rock solid in both open and closed positions.
