These devices are a total crapshoot and usually a waste of money.

This is what i use. Bluetooth works flawlessly and the microphone is excellent 100% of the time, every time.

I am looking at the Grom and Hamilton kits for a 2016 Sport with ML sound. Both look to be the best quality options by a mile. I don't want any of that super cheap crap on eBay or amazon.

So if i want to turn my A/C on or off I have to back out of all the software and go back into factory software? Then go back into CarPlay? How is that process?

Make sure you are connecting via Bluetooth to either CARPLAY or Car Accessory. If you are on CARPLAY and Car Accessory is connected, you will get echo on all phone calls.
