I own a 04' RX300. I have noticed when the temperature outside is higher than 75 degrees the transmission has erratic 'bang' shift on occasion. Sometimes it downshifts with a lot of power (kinda like it hesitates and kicks in) Other than that the transmission seems okay. I had the top plastic beauty cover off of the top of the engine a while ago and noticed a plastic vacuum tube unit that seemed to be cracked slightly. I don't know if this has anything to do the the transmission issue. The engine idles fine. I do notice when turning a right corner without stopping that it kind of hesitates coming out of the curve. I run 'mid-grade' unleaded fuel in the car. I was going to take a picture of the cracked part and see if the dealer can get me a new unit for starters. I also checked the transmission fluid and it is full and not discolored. I have seen many posts of transmission erratic shifting, but need some correct advice as there are so many different opinions out there. Thanks everyone.
