Default Pebble Chipped Windshield

Hey CL Forum,
While driving down the highway, a pebble from another truck hits my windshield making it chipped so slightly. How would the forum suggest on going about fixing this? Leave it alone / Using Rain-X windshield repair kit / Bringing it into a shop / Other suggestions? My main concern is that it might spread and develop a spider crack.
Results from the impact of a pebble:

From a distance

For those who wants to see what was captured from my dash-cam: https://youtu.be/zr-BFkkb6Rk
From searching online, I believe the truck is not to be held responsible unless the pebble came directly from the truck.

If you check with an Auto Glass Specialist, depending on the size of the chip (hard to tell compared to the entire windshield), they can repair a chip inexpensively.
Also I believe it also depends if the chip is too deep, then possibly the windshield needs to be replaced & can not be repaired.
I would get opinions from a couple of Auto Glass outifts.
I received one on a previous vehicle, the Auto Glass outfit repaired it at no charge & it took maybe 5 minutes.
Although you should get that checked before a crack develops, then you will have no option other than to replace the windshield.

I use the RainX kit and the resin glue in it really works to prevent further cracking. That's a little bigger than I've filled, but it does work. Doesn't improve clarity though. I keep it in the car at all times. Roads here in Colorado are covered with rocks.

any particular tips you may have when using the rain-x kit as this is the more likely approach I will take. The damage is awfully small after I cleaned it up, so taking it to a auto glass specialist might be a little overkill imo now that I have a closer look.

Wouldn't hurt, the smaller the chip the better, especially if a professional repairs it for free, as in my case.
He didn't come running out with a Rain X kit. ....
if you go the Rain X route, maybe a good idea to experiment with a car at the wreckers so you can evaluate the final result.

RainX one is the second and current kit I've had. First was less runny. RainX resin is runny and thin, but works. Maybe try and use the suction adapter-helps fill voids. I quit using that after filling many impacts on our old car. Just drip over damage and let dry, it will fill. Since yours is bigger sized impact, maybe two applications with the RainX. Drip it on there, park car and let dry. Then reapply. It will prevent cracks. I had it all over my last windshield in like 8 or ten impact places, no kidding and none cracked.

Is there a reason no one has considered insurance yet? Some insurance policies have no deductible replacement, others have no deductible repair of repairable chips by a glass shop.
Possibly anecdotal, but I've heard that time matters for repairing a chip. The longer the delay, the less likely it will last.
