Default 2009 RX350 Stereo Not Working

Hi All,

My 2009 RX350 recently stopped working, i can still listen to it (actually i can not turn it off) as the none of the buttons on the front console light up or function. I can however control it from the steering wheel. I checked the fuses and they all look good. Therefore im guessing it is a stereo head unit or the amp. Any idea how to determine which is faulty?

Well if you can hear sound I assume the amp is not the issue. Most likely the headunit face is faulty or there's loose wiring somewhere.

Appears to be a defective on/ off switch for the stereo, if it can not be turned off.
Try an audio shop that carries Pioneer, they may be able to find a replacement part & repair for a reasonable rate.

My 2007 RX does that sometimes. Specifically the volumen **** does not work but the steering wheel controls do work. I have found that if I press on the faceplace something gets re-connected and it works fine.

I have the same model and same problem. Thought it was the hot weather. No solutions from me. Taking it out to look at it - that always helps, I wish.

I always just leave the Stereo on & rarely use the button for on/off (it functions normally).
When I shut off the vehicle the Stereo shuts off anyway. When I start the vehicle, the Stereo plays...
this way, less wear & tear on the apparently sensitive on/off button.

I would unplug the battery for 10-15 min. see if that resets it. worth a try.
