Antislip Indicator and Wheel Shudder
Dear All
Hi, new on here and wanted to share some early experience on my 2003 RX 300
Bought the car in the UK 1 month ago and had a small noise, it was found to be a wheel bearing so changed both front bearings and the back covers, along with getting the transmission oil changed and filters
You may not believe this but after driving the car for an hour or so there was a different noise coming from the DSF like a grinding noise
Turns out after inspection the hub nut had come loose and effectively the wheel and the shaft had come loose
You may understand my anger as I then had to drive the car home with my 8 yr old in the car and it turns out we were in danger.....
When approaching the garage who did the work he says it is a nylock nut and very unusual for them to come loose? He assured me the wheel was tight on completion
The garage who found the fault maintained they should be wire locked or the equivalent?
Since then the car now has developed very occasionally the slip light coming on with a loud beep!....also now and again when you brake to come to a gentle stop the brake peddle shudders very slightly
Any Ideas? some posts on here have suggested the affected wheel may not be centred?
Wanted some ideas before I go back to the garages
Many thanks in advance
Tom
