We have an RX330 2004. On Monday morning with no symptoms the check engine light and VCS light came on. Yesterday I had the code read and the P0430 code was the culprit. I typically use regular gas but there has a been a gas shortage in TN so I had purchased the highest grade the weekend before. I had just filled up the second time before the light came one. The guy at auto zone recommended a catalytic system cleaner along with a fill up with the highest grade gas. I did that along with an oil change and had the code cleared. I drove 220 miles and the lights are back on. Again the car isn't showing any signs of something wrong. (I did have one time while at a long stop light that the idel felt jerky but nothing was happening with the idel and I couldn't tell if I was imagining it or not.)

thanks
go back to using regular if you don't want to see the code. I Get the p0430 code with super unleaded or with using fuel injector cleaners now. This makes the combustion chambers burn hotter so the pre cat o2 sensors are measuring hotter than the post cat 02 sensors. Let's face it , our manifold converter is old and obstructed given the mileage/age of our vehicles. Mine still passes smog so I'm not going to replace it until it fails. Just reset the light when it comes up if it bothers you or replace the cat if you don't want to deal with that code or just use regular
I would pull the spark plugs and check them. I would also jiggle each coilpack (the ones that are easy to get to), while at idle in park, and see if you get a misfire. if you do you need to replace that coilpack. It could be a faulty sensor as well.
