Thanks for the info Joe. I'm not sure what you mean by the inspection plate, can you post a pic of it.
So I just put in a bottle of Bars Rear main seal to see if it helps. Like you, I plan to live with it, if it is the rear main seal.
I did notice today, when I was looking down from the hood that the parts below where the dipstick goes seems to be sort of wet.
Same with our RX330 ... that is the valve cover gasket ... it looks like ours is dripping down in that same area. But, no drops on the garage floor ... yet.
I got an estimate for $450 to replace the front/back valve cover gaskets.

Bingo! It was the front valve cover gasket. This is easy to tell, just open the hood and take a look at the engine area. I noticed it was wet with oil grim, dripping down to other areas like the RMS.
I was seriously considering DIY - (as JoeInHNL so excellently posted how), but only to the front cover; as I didn't want to mess with the rear. After talking to an indy mech, he informed me that if the front cover is bad, then the rear will probably follow. I heeded his advise and decided for the shop to do both front and back. Mech also advised to replace all spark plugs, while he had access to the rear engine. Total cost was $450. Felpro gasket + Denso plugs.

This is great news! Thanks for the follow up! Personally if it were me, I would go for it. Which it sounds like you are! Too bad my recent diagnosis wasn’t as minor as yours. Lol

I wish I could repair like JoeinHNL and Htown, but that is beyond my (oil change, brakes, air/cabin filter) experience. Congrats and great price.
