Default 2004 RX330 - Code P0420

This morning both by check engine and VSC lights came on. I took the car to Autozone and the tester said that P0420 code appeared twice.

He sold me a bottle of Cataclean and told me to try that first.

Any chance that will work? Should I reset the lights after using Cataclean or should it go off on its own? How do I reset the lights (remove power to the battery for a few hours or is there an easier way)?

Am I safe driving the car around in the meantime?

Any other suggestions? Anything else it could be or is that code pretty definitive as to what the issue is?

Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any thoughts here?

In other threads, I see the comment "reset code". How exactly do I clear the check engine and vsc lights on my RX 330?

I guess I'll do that after I use the Cataclean and hope for the best.

Any other suggestions at this point?

You can read and reset codes using a scan tool like the Carista app.

I don't currently have an OBD2 adapter, but I just ordered this.

Will Carista or Torque reset from the VSC and check engine lights so both go off?

Also, should I proceed with the bottle of Cataclean. There a decent chance that helps and keeps the lights from coming back on for a while?

Just means your catalytic converter is not functioning as well as it used to. This only affectss pollution. Only replace your cat if you can't pass smog, that's the tip my indy Toyota mechanic gave me. Just reset the code with a scan tool if you get tired of looking at the code and before smog. Can't pass smog with the codes. Haven't tried cataclean. I used Berryman chemtool b12 with good success though. My mechanic got another 50k miles out of his camry once codes appeared before he failed smog and had to replace his cat
