Strut coil spring bad?
All,
I have been having a hard time getting the spring to compress correctly. They have to be in the center for the mount to go on. I have tried the floor model as you can see from the picture and also the manual spring compressor. I was able to do one side, but I had to fake out the compressor. There is no way they can be made this way. They have 163k on them. Let me know what you think.
Thx,
David

Update #1
I found the spec on the height and it is 392.6mm which is 15 and 29/64in , I measured the spring and they are at 15in, new ones on their way.

Not necessarily Lexus but I have found spring generally compress from new once they have been used for a while, so being less than a 1/2" doesn't seem like a big deal, Is it normal for the spring to be curved like that?,that's why your compressor won't work? What manufacturer shocks did you end up with?

The compression is normal it is the bend in the spring. This is the reason I cannot compress. I even used the manual type and could not compress enough. I looked at the pictures of the DIY post and could not even make the spring look like that one in the picture. Waiting for new ones from Lexus.
Thx,
David
