My SUV was having trouble getting out of park. Also a few lights on the dash would illuminate randomly, VSC,etc. The shifter didn't seem to recognize when I would press on the brake. I paid $26.99 for a Foot Brake Switch at O'Reilly's, and from start to finish it was about 45 minutes. I removed the panel just beneath the steering column, and with a 14mm wrench removed the foot brake switch and put in the new one. O' Reilly's didn't have the part in stock, so they ordered it, and had it the next morning. Everything about it was pretty simple, I'm not a "car guy", but heard the dealer would charge me an arm and a leg, so I DIY'd it and it's all good.
