Ignition cylinder removal help
So I've googled all day long and am not finding out the following answer. I need to remove the ignition cylinder to then install a new cylinder that has been re keyed to match my keys to the other two locks--a local locksmith will do his for $30 and a new cylinder costs $130. I can get the pin pushed down by using a modified coat hangar but the engine immobilizer/light ring is in the way of removal. The upper dash trim is totally nonflexible. If I could get the immobilizer unit out of the way, I could remove the cylinder. Does anyone know how to do this without removing the upper dash piece?
FYI, I did try to drill out the two "special" screws holding the ignition unit in place without luck...so I can't remove the unit from below.
Thanks in advance, Brian
