Underbody corrosion
Hello all, I have a 2008 RX 350. While performing an oil change this past weekend, I noticed how badly corroded the entire underbody was, from the transmission cooler lines to the transfer case. Is this normal for such Lexus vehicles?
My Mercedes ML that is over 14 years old does not even have the same level of rust, while also lacking underbody protection. I'm a little alarmed by this.
Thanks much for the input!

Metal does rot and all cars/trucks are made of it. I would immediately have it rustproofed or do it yourself if you have a compressor. It's not sexy but it's the one and only thing that can protect you investment. I soak the underneath of my RX330 twice a year. I learned the hard way. Had a 2004 GMC truck which never had been rustproofed and to thank me, the gas tank straps rotted though and it ended up in the ditch while I was going down the road. Get it done today....
