Default 2008 Lexus RX350 Spoiler Leak

I purchased a 2008 Lexus RX350 recently with a small leak at the spoiler (possibly) ...coming down into the hatchback lift gate / lid. I knew about the issue before I purchased it and had the price reduced $1000 because of it. Anyway, what is the best approach to fixing this. Just call around and see who fixes this kind of thing or should I just take off the spoiler and see what I can see...then try sealing things? Any thoughts? Anyone ever have to do this?

Woodstock, Georgia

I would remove the spoiler and reinstall with some silicone caulk.

Make sure it's not the hatch gasket leaking and that there's no viable cracks in the body seams at the top corners of the hatch opening (roof rack channel). Someone else mentioned those seams have leaked before. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...ml#post8890127

The top portion of the hatchback gate / lid (red) is what gets wet. The seal around it looks good. Somehow water is getting to the fabric.

One possibility is leaking rear window washer hose. It is easy to check, just wash the rear window and check if the area is getting more wet. With rear door open the washer fluid goes easily backward and leaks to either side of the trunk. The hose tends to crack around the securing rubber boots. Even better is to open those rubbers but you will see it too if you remove that whole upper panel.

What wrong with the bumper?? First I look you have a hole but is it a burnt sticker?

I realize this was posted 2 years ago, but I was wondering if you determined the problem, I just noticed the same thing is happening to my 2009 rx350. While at drive thru carwash I noticed dripping water from the rearview mirror. I got home lifted hatch and saw fresh water spot. To my surprise there was a larger dried stain around it, so this has happened before, I just didn't know. It is in the same spot where you have the arrow pointed. I am mechanically car challenged so I will have to take it to get fixed.

07 RX350, I have this same exact leak in the top of the hatch. The top of the door itself.

Anyone figured out the issue?

Open the hatch, you will need to seal up the weld joints, I will try to take pics of my repair and post. Mine still leaks when getting into a huge deluge of non stop rain. Normal rain, it seems to be ok so maybe I have to re-seal again.

Thank you for the advice! I am aware of the issue with the weld joints, those leak at the sides of the hatch opening The problem I have is in the hatch door itself. Top of the door, below the spoiler/brake light, is stained.

I just bought the car and saw this issue and found this thread. I am thinking this is either the spoiler or the top brake light. Any views?

Yeah that'd be great. I asked in another thread... never heard back. Didn't want to bother to PM you though...
