Default Need Help Buying a second-gen RX 350

Looking for some help.

My girlfriend is currently looking to buy a 2007-2009 RX 350. We are looking at local Lexus dealerships and want something that has less than 70,000 miles as this fits into her price range. We know that the RX is a good and reliable used car but are wondering what we should be looking for in terms of common problems or repairs that should be or should have been taken care of. Both of us drive our cars to 200,000 miles and beyond which is why we want something reliable but don't want to end up with a lemon or money pit. I currently have a 2011 ES and love it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

urbanskim,

Oil line failure. Check to make sure the vehicle has been repaired accordingly.

If you are buying from a Lexus dealership have them print out the entire maintenance record of the vehicle before purchase. If buying from a private party register the vehicle at the Lexus Drivers website. The complete Lexus service history of the vehicle will be there as well as any warranty work or recalls. Link Below:

Thanks everyone for the advise. Your information has definitely helped me make sense of what is printed in vehicle history reports and maintenance records.

bear in mind: maintance records only show up if the owner takes the car to Lexus/Toyota dealers for service....

absolutely kickin8, but after these posts it makes sense why all these RX's we have been looking at have had their steering racks and oil cooler lines replaced in their records. We are very cautious about cars without a service history, carfax and lexusdrivers really helps with that. Glad everyone was able to help.
