Default 2006 RX 330 Check Engine & VSC light on

Good Morning! I was wondering if anyone out there can help me. I jumped in my vehicle this morning and the check engine light and VSC light suddenly appeared on?? I have a 2006 RX 330. Has anyone experienced this before or can possibly point me in the right direction?? Two weeks ago I had new brakes/rotors put on the front and new rotors on back. ??? After 14 days, would there be a connection ?? Or a total different reason??? Hmmmm, hoping someone may shed some light on this for me. Thank you!

Loose gas cap?

You can stop by one of several Auto Supply stores and ask them to read the error codes.

As above, get the error code or codes read and post back with the number. Auto supply stores will usually do this for free. Doing a search of this forum using key word VSC brought up this:

Dead battery/low voltage can cause both of those error lights to set off.

Loose gas cap was the case in my two experiences with that warning. Warning takes a couple of days to clear if it's the gas cap.

If you will got to AdvanceAuto/Autozone or other shops, they will loan you the scanner and pull the code. I haven't heard of gas caps failing unless it has been crossthreaded and the threads are buggered.

Most likely it is not the gas cap. You absolutely need to have the trouble code read. Without that code, we are just guessing.

Fwiw, my daughter took her RX330 in and the counter person at Autozone read it for her and she took a screen shot of the reader. Pretty painless.

Highly suggest that invest in an OBDII Reader, they are getting cheaper by the day, as low as $30.

You can diagnose and re-set CEL/MIL lights.

I cleaned my battery cables and erased the codes and the light has stayed off. I also bought a new gas cap from a local Lexus dealer. Not sure which it was though.
