Default RX350 Wiper Blade Replacements

I just took in my 2007 RX350 to the Lexus dealer for a "once over" as I recently purchased it, as well as a squeak that was coming from the passenger side wiper blades.

After several replacements (including the high end Rainx and Michelin from Home Depot) the squeak would not go away.

Lexus indicated that the "aftermarket" blades were causing the problem and I needed Lexus blades.

I pushed back as they were about $120 for both, but, much to my surprise no squeak.

Not sure what the OEM blades are and I guess I could have researched it more, but, was at my witts end with the squeak.

Anyway, that fixed the problem.

I think the big difference between wiper performance has to do with the frame wipers vs the frameless wiper blades and how they distribute pressure evenly against the windshield. Anyways, i came across Goodyear assurance wiper blades at Costco and they have been performing well so far with no squeaks or skipping on our 2010 RX350.

Just put a fresh set of 3 on my wife's '10.
$33.00 taxes in for the refills at the dealer.
Do you still have the original frames ?

I think you might be right. Like I said i was already at the dealer. I was going to go research it, but, my girlfriend told me to just replace them (as I was driving her nuts about it).

I should also say that the service coordinator ended up dropping the $118 Diagnostic Fee (as they drove the vehicle). I think she felt bad for me that i actually spent $120 on wiper blades.

Check this out^^^^ dealership will sell just the rubber part of the blade that you slip into the frames. They are cheap and I think work better than any aftermarket blades I've ever tried.

Agreed on just purchasing new inserts moving forward.

You can also go to your local Toyota dealership and tell them what size inserts you need and they will sell those to you cheaper than what Lexus would charge.

Tried different brands but end up back to dealer inserts. When done during service, dealer doesn't charge labor.

Last year we had a squeak from the passenger side wiper that sounded like it was coming from the linkage. Dealer diagnosed it as the mechanism in the base of the right wiper arm, quoted $167 to fix but it was covered under CPO warranty.

Same as NVAKeith...I had a squeak and thought it was the blades, but it turned out to be the passenger side linkage. Bought a new wiper arm for 60 bucks and put it on. No more squeak.

Default 2007 RX350 Wiper Blades

Went with the Bosch ICON. Like $50 for the pair at pep Boys but look to be well worth it. (No squeeking thus far)

As a side, these evidently will NOT work/fit on the 2011/2012 RX350's.
