2005 RX 330 cabin heat trouble
In the heat mode, I am getting heated air from the drivers vents but cold air from the passenger vents.
Could a partially plugged heater core cause this problem?
Would this be caused by a blend door failure?
History: I had a small leak in the radiator and my mechanic put Bars Stop Leak into the cooling system. This almost immediately stopped the radiator leak. Shortly there after I was getting heat only on the drivers side and not the passenger side.
Now that we are in air conditioning mode the air seems to have the same CFM flow and temperature from both sides.
Two different mechanics tell me two different things. One says it is a blend door/motor issue and the other tells me that the heater core is plugged on one side because of the Bars Leaks.
What are your thoughts on this?

You could have a clogged heater core, however, even if that was the case and the heater core was getting very hot, your blend door would have to direct the air from the fan OVER the heater core to get any heat from the core itself. For whatever reason, you've got a situation in which the air is being routed improperly over the heater core instead of bypassing it and going through the a/c coil.

Of course I did. Both set to max. The temperature of the air coming from the drivers side is warm but not as hot as normal for the max temp setting. The passenger side is cold.

Fact: Air from your blower fan is being directed improperly 1 of two ways: over the heater core; or possibly allowing too much exterior air through the intake.
Switch your setting to interior recirculation. See if that makes a differece. If not, your blend door motrs are malfunctioning and directly the air improperly.

Cabin Heat stops after 4 minutes
I have a 2006 RX400h. The problem that I am having is that after about 4-5 minutes of driving the heat stops flowing into the cabin and is replaced by cold air.
This happens regardless of whatever mode the heating system is in; Automatic or Manual mode and regardless of the temperature that I am requesting (I went all the way up MAX HEAT and it still blew cold air).
I suspect that there is a valve or servo that shuts down the flow of antifreeze into he heater core.
Any ideas or suggestions?
