Default Beat-Sonic antenna install - w/Pics

This install is for the Beat-Sonic FDA4 universal shark fin antenna. They are available in a few basic colors, but I had this one painted to match my color (1G0). Whole procedure was less than 10 minutes, and as you will see, super easy.

This is the stock antenna, and once I removed the rack, it looks huge.....so I decided to swap it out. I know the antenna works, as another forum member (CARVER) has installed one a while back.

This is the painted Beat-Sonic antenna

Bottom and wire connection

The install is very simple, first unscrew your OEM antenna (ignore the dirt around the old roof rack, I have to clean that still)

Next set the antenna over the OEM mount, and get it lined-up, I made sure I liked the position from the side and rear, where you will see it most, but due to the shape of the vehicle, when you look at it from the front, over the roof, it appears to point towards the passenger side....but that angle is not so easy to see.

Then I put masking tape around it so I can align it again when I am ready to secure it

At this point you can use one of the screws provided (middle size) and attach the wire lead to the antenna base

Last you clean the roof area with the provided alcohol wipe, peel and stick the antenna cover down, I held it depressed for 30 seconds (the rubber skirt will depress some, then flex back), remove masking tape, and you are done

That was easy, did you notice any improvement or degrading of your FM reception? My FM reception got worse when I upgraded my stereo, and was wondering if this antenna might help. Thanks

I checked in with Eric at Beat-Sonic and he confirmed the FDA4 antenna in Pearl White (FDA4PW), is painted in Lexus color code 062 -- same as Carver's.

So, if you need one in 062 they are already painted for you in advance.

One concern I had initially was car wash survivability and I am pleased to report zero problems with literally dozens of brush washes on it now. I've had no problems with radio reception although admittedly, I mostly listen to the iPod.
