Default Sticky windows

My side windows, driver and passenger both, make a loud noise when I open them. There is a sticky substance on the top 1/3 inch of the window that seems to stick in the recessed area that the top of the window closes into. Apparently the noise I hear is the sound of that sticky stuff breaking away as I open the window. I have thoroughly cleaned it off at least 3 times but it always comes back after a few weeks. Does anyone else have this problem? Know what it is? And how to fix it permanently?

What year do you have, I have the same issue. I clean whenever I can.

my best guess would be you have weather stripping adhesive that has gotten on the window either by the stripping itself moving around and exposing the adhesive, or adhesive has worked itself around the strip somehow.

You might try rubbing a little talcum powder on the weather stripping where it is sticking. Clean the rubber well first with an APC and wipe dry with a clean cloth. Worked for me.

... or lower the window down and spray some silicone all the way around into the rubber window channel. I do it periodically to all my windows and they just fly up and down with a touch of the switch.

I have the same problem! I hate it, and its the worst after it rains, or after its washed. Might try that Silicone trick.
