My cruse controlled all of a sudden stopped working. The Cruse light comes on, but the cruse speed is not able to be locked. At the same time my indicator light "D" for Drive also did not light up when I put the the gear in Drive position. This was also coupled with the "S" Sport selector not functioning. Any clue as what may be wrong ??

 

Could be a bad brake switch, the switch allows the cruise to be turned off, maybe it failed.

 

I found that the plug connection which is mounted under the battery (RH Drive) had corroded and contributed to the malfunction of the Cruse control. This a design fault from Lexus which worked out rather expensive to fix, as a complete wiring loom had to be purchased !!
