Default 05 RX330 power steering fluid advice needed

The fluid is black and needs relacement. The dealer wants $129 and i've seen a Lexus U Tube video that simply shows taking a turkey baster and sucking the fluid from the container and replacing with new ATF Dextron III fluid for less than $10. Is this process acceptable and if so what ATF fluid might you suggest?
Thanks,

Hello,
I'm not sure about the service costs and process; but I use Royal Purple ATF in my power steering system.
I hope this helps,
Chris

Yes it is,you can do that every say 2 weeks for may be three times and will exchange most of the fluid and one quart will be sufficient

Thanks,
Turkey baster, Mobil 1 ATF, every oil change. You'll never have an issue with it being black.

Thanks for the replies. I believe I'll install Mobil 1.

There is a faster way than a baster. Use a 1/4 plastic tube (suck and let it do the work for you) and do the suction thing and just let it drip. Or else get the plunger or a hand pump. Check out your local BM Auto store. Harbor Freight has them as well.

I used to spend 30 minutes sucking up the fluid, and I did change it every couple of thousand miles (until it was all pink color).

The plunger or the tube worked much faster.

I have been using Mobil 1 ATF for awhile. Royal Purple ATF is not bad either and there are a number of good products out there.

Mobil 1 ATF is perfect for PS.

Another alternative to the turkey baster, is getting a spray bottle and pulling off the top mechanism. And then just stick that straight into the power steering reservoir and pump it out into a bottle. I added some tubing on the end of the mechanism so that I could hold it directly into a disposable bottle. (ignore the tie in the picture, I use that to hold the extra hose onto the mechanism).

That is basically my kit. Make sure the nozzle is set to STREAM and not SPRAY and I have a 2L soda bottle for the fluid and to store when not in use.

Had read about Lexmex using Mobil 1 ATF a long time ago, so that is what I have been using.

Have some pictures on the camera, however, cannot find the data cable. Special USB cable and seems to be non-standard. Will post when I find it.
