I never trust aftermarket parts... return the autozone ignition coil, get a factory coil from the dealer or online, and be done with it.

This has been proven in the past - improper charge leads to a number of things. Don't listen to them. I guarantee there is far more knowledge on these forums than most lexus dealers and definitely most parts houses. And this knowledge has come from people who drive and work on these cars.

Sorry to post my rely so late regarding my ignition coil problem. Actually, it has been solved. I returned the parts from both auto zone as well as pep boys. I went to local lexus dealership and buy the original part there. Actually, the local price from the dealership is the lowest among the three, below $80 before tax. The one from Pepboys is around $90 and the one from auto zone is more than $110, I think.

Be careful, if you order from the .com address, you will have to pay more than double the price.

It takes me less than five minutes to replace with the new one from lexus dealership since mine is the even number ignition coil and is on the outside.

So it has been for more than a month and everything is fine now. All the lights problem is gone.

Hello, i have the same problem like Ephone but i don't find yet. Since 2 month, i try to start and the engin spin and spin and won't run. I had the same warning light, engin, vsc and track off. I wait 20 minutes and the engin start very good. I have a fault code P0355 and lexus change the coil # 5. 7 days after, the problem come back again and the problem come at each 7-10 days. I was think about the security system but i don't think so because he start after 10-20 min.When i come back home, because i work over-sea, i will try to check the code with my computer and try to change the localisation of the coil for see if the problem will change. If someone find the problem, let me know !! Thanks

hello, my problem was resolve ! It was the coil relay. All be ok now :-))

I have a 2008 Rx350 and had the same problem today with the Check Engine, VCS and traction control light all on and the engine running very rough. I am planning to go on a trip in a couple of days I needed this problem fixed ASAP. Took it to the Lexus dealer and explained my dilemma. Even though it was late in the afternoon and all mechanics swamped they told me to wait and they would see what they could find after running the diagnosis.They found PO356 code.#6 ignition coil has internal failure. They replaced #6 coil and cleared code to correct. Car runs good like it did before this issue. About $250 to fix. Only had 23,775 miles on the odometer.

it is good price you got from a dealership.
I had P0352 back in 8/2011 at 72k. I replaced with oem coil(the one with Toyota part # printed on the part), it is fine ever since. Today, CEL on again at 82k, read out P0356. Luckily it is also front bank.
The coil I bought before has black epoxy on the top, the original one that came with the car is yellowish. But the online store I bought it from said oem and has Toyota part # engraved on the coil, so I hope that was a genuine one.
I will never go aftermarket for it.

Any suggestion where to get genuine oem coil at good price?

It would be the same coil as used in any of the same vintage Toyotas with the same engine. So, that would be a start. Look to see if your local dealership has a parts discount coupon. You could even walk in with one of your old ones which was bad if you still had it and have them go from there.

No, that they could pull the part number off the old coil. If you tell them you have an RX350 they may say to go to a Lexus dealer. Some Toyota shops are funny about selling parts to go on a Lexus even though they are the same thing.

how does one log into sewell to see the discount?

I went to dealer to see what was the issue and I was told it was bad gas and needed fuel injection cleaning and new sparkplugs and remove old gas out of tank.

I also went to autozone and they told me that the most likely issue is the sparkplug in coil 6 but is shows both 4 and 6. I changed both 4 and 6 sparkplugs and the issue is gone.
