Question Need pricing advice ASAP!!!

I found a 04 RX330 113k. They're asking for 12k. It has a clean carfax (which I know isn't the most reliable source) timing belt changed at 84k. All recommended maintenance was done at lexus dealer. Do you think this is a good deal?

I looked at an 04 with around 90K, timing belt not yet done, no nav, perfect condition and service history. The local Lexus dealer was asking 17K. I never really got to pushing them on the price but I'm sure beating them down to 15 could have been done, though still kinda high for my liking. Cars.com, AutoTrader, etc are your friend. See if there's anything similar in you general vicinity. Without looking, it sounds good, not great, but good.

That is not a bad price. What about the brakes, have the pads been changed? At 120K you will require a spark plug change. This plug change is a PIA on the RX and because of this, it is expensive. Does this vehicle have a navigation system?

If it has NAV/backup camera, ML stereo pkg and any other options, this sounds like heck of a deal! I would jump on it!
Actually sounds too good to be true. If they are asking 12k, there should be a room to wiggle and get is for 10k, may be for 11k out the door!
Low 110s is an appropriate mileage for the year (driven 12-15k miles/year). I suspect the car has either been a rental, has had or needs paint/body work or imperfections, or a smoker car. Also it is most likely the base model.
My 05 RX330 was listed for 16,500 with 106k miles. Clean car, NAV/back up camera, integrated blue tooth, I-pod connector, towing pkg. I bought it for 13,700, so after all the tax title and license fees was 15,000 out the door. I thought that was a heck of a deal!
If the car looks/feels/drives up to par, after a little haggling with them, go for it! If any imperfections and you're willing to live with that, try to buy it for 10, 10,500.
Good luck, and keep us posted!

At that price even if it needs a couple of things it might be a deal. Have it examined with a fine toothed comb, look at the steering rack, brakes, consider the cost of a complete fluid change, yada, yada, yada.

Good luck!

Thinking about how well my 04RX is holding up I'd say that it is a good value at that price. I'd not sell mine for that. I'm impressed at just how well this 9 year old looks and drives. It has been quite inexpensive to maintain over the years, has neither any rust or paint issues nor any mechanical issues. I think the RX is one of the best built cars around and believe I will see it still running well at the 250,000 mile mark.

The more I think about it, the more hard pressed I am to see the value of a new RX over my 9 year old RX. Probably talking about a $40,000 difference if I were to trade up to a 2013 similarly equipped.

I write checks for cars so it really focuses the mind when deciding to write one for 20k or 50k. Value for money becomes a very serious consideration. There is no way I could justify the cost of a new RX compared to the value of the one I drive. That value is why I drive a Lexus, very few 8 year old cars could come close to providing the reliability of this RX. Frankly, if my '01 RX300 hadn't been totaled I would most likely still be driving it.
